With Brixham fishing port a short boat or car ride away we can source all manner of the highest quality seafood to be found in the country. From the freshest sole and plaice coming in off the day boats to the most succulent of deep sea white fish we all love to have battered.

There is a myriad of shellfish available from lobsters and scallops to the famous Brixham crab. Unbeatable in a crab sandwich or with a peppery leaf salad.

We can't talk about shellfish without mentioning the outstanding River Teign mussels delivered to us direct from the mussel farm. Being estuary grown they are plump and succulent with an exquisite yet subtle taste with none of the grit associated with those grown outside the estuary. These truly are some of the best mussels we have ever tasted throughout our travels.

Ed, who was a butcher, cooks whole English gammons to make the very finest of home cooked ham and also bakes the scones on the premises and receives plaudits from almost all who try them and has even had his gluten free scones endorsed by the local Womens Institute !

All of this is served daily in our residents restaurant but can also be found in many of the local restaurants from michelin starred fine dining to family friendly laid back steakhouses.
