The Elephant
Overlooks the harbour and is a two storey restaurant with the more informal brasserie on the ground floor and the Michelin starred, 'The Room' on the first. The Room was the first restaurant in Torquay to be awarded a Michelin star which it maintains today. Lovely fresh local produce and a real treat.

The Orange Tree
Another of Torquays award winning restaurants. A fabulous fine dining experience just of the High Street, serving wonderful local fish and meat, it classes itself as an English European restaurant.

Old Vienna
Artisan cuisine with an Austrian touch this is a delightful small (20 seater) restaurant, where – if you a lucky – Werner the proprieter and chef will greet and may even occasionally yodel at you. An experience not to be missed. The food is terrific too.

This Lobster and Seafood Restaurant offer the best seafood and fresh fish at reasonable prices, and serving very generous portions (we have never managed a dessert here!). Booking is essential during the busier season, especially if you want a table overlooking Torquay harbour.

This could very easily have been in our Fine Dining section. Stunningly fabulous fish, fish and more fish is found here in this bistro style restaurant. They do serve meat – but not much of it - Ed's always too scared to ask - so this is definitely the place for fish lovers.

Tj's Restaurant
Found nestled away in Paignton Harbour with fantastic views, yet very easy to find with good free roadside parking. They serve both fish and meat and you can eat it in a 'Tapas' style so you can have each dish as a starter or combine them to make a larger meal – or chose from their specials for a more traditional syle meal – either way we love this place and know the fish is always good as we share the same supplier.

Located just behind us, Dave Hanbury and his team at Hanburys have been serving fantastic fish and chips for 3 decades, and have won many awards for their commitment to excellence. This is a firm favourite of ours and offers fantastic Italian food using fresh local ingredients. The Lamb is a must as is the Carpaccio. They also offer a short earlybird menu for Theatre goers. An intimate and authentic dining experience.

Fantastic authentic Bengali and Indian Cuisine. This restaurant has a wide range of dishes and are always happy to temper it to suit your taste. Their delicously fresh Naan breads are a firm favourite.

This is an 'all you can eat' Chinese buffet. To avoid confusion, children are charged dependent on height. We think the quality is very good for the price – but it does get very busy so we always try to get there within ½ hour of opening. Their are lots of dishes, replenished regularly and their duck and pancakes (weekends only) and salt and pepper squid is delicious, as is their garlic king prawns.
Is it haute cuisine – no, but it is incredibly good value for money, and always a good feed.
